IRE ELiT co-operates with the Lithuanian Radiation Protection Center
Experts from IRE-ELiT visited the Lithuanian Radiation Protection Center (RPC) on September 11th 2018. This visit was a part of events planned in a bilateral agreement under the Belgian project for strengthening the safety of nuclear facilities of the countries of East and Central Europe.
Experts from IRE-Elit organized a seminar on the control of radioactive materials in metal scrap yards. Specialists from the RPC and the Radioactive Waste Management Agency attended the workshop.
During this mission in Vilnius, IRE-ELiT experts also discussed with RPC representatives the results of intercomparison during which RPC and IRE ELiT specialists in 2017 sampled soil and water and both analyzed samples independently.
It was also discussed the program of return visit of RPC specialists to IRE ELiT Laboratory of Radioactivity Measurement on the training scheduled on October 2018 at IRE ELIT Facilities. In addition, further information on the implementation of cooperation projects for 2019 was exchanged.
