The IRE is a world leader in the production of medical radioisotopes involved in the manufacturing of medicines used in nuclear medicine. For its part, IRE ELiT produces a number of radiopharmaceutical drugs used in the treatment of cancers and in nuclear medicine palliative care. Local residents

IRE - IRE ELiT continually invests to ensure and strengthen the reliability and safety of its installations in order to protect both its employees and local residents. Regular inspections are conducted by the Belgian Federal Agency for Nuclear Control (FANC) and by international notified bodies.

Healthcare professionals

The IRE is one of the leading players in the cGMP production of API-grade radioisotopes used in nuclear medicine after being transformed into injectable medical products. The main isotopes produced here are molybdenum-99 (the parent isotope of technetium-m99), iodine -131, yttrium-90 and xenon-133. For its part, IRE ELiT produces, with cGMP certification, a number of radiopharmaceutical medicines including yttrium-90 and tungsten-188/rhenium-188 generators used in the treatment of certain cancers and in palliative care.
More than six million nuclear medicine examinations are carried out all over the world every year thanks to the radioisotopes that we produce in Fleurus.
